Birds of a Feather - May 8, 2024

I was on my way to work this morning when I got word that the school group that I was going in for had canceled. I could have went on in and worked on something else, but decided, instead, to head back home and get a few things done before granddaughters' come over this afternoon. I enjoyed taking the long way home, observing wildlife and mid-spring flowers along the way.

Here are a few of the birds that I observed on my way home...

Dickcissel

Mourning Dove

Savannah Sparrow

Killdeer

The cheerful song of the dickcissel makes it my favorite summer bird here on the tallgrass prairie of Missouri.  What's yours favorite summer bird and why?

 Until next time...
