Master To-Do List and Menu Plan Monday - February 26, 2024

This morning...

It's the last Tuesday in February and the weather is GORGEOUS! The sun is shining and a high of 78 is expected today; 82 tomorrow!

Crocuses

Not only do I have crocuses blooming in my yard, but bluets and spring beauties, as well...in FEBRUARY! I've never had bluets and spring beauties blooming in February! That's crazy! Makes me wonder what kind of summer we're in for? 🤔

Spring Beauties

How was your week and weekend? Besides the day-to-day everyday-life things...home, family, work, etc...there was an out-of-town day trip, out-of-town company, and the starter on my van had to be replaced. Fortunately, I was only down a little over 24-hours...this time!!!

Amber took me to work Saturday morning; sil picked me up Saturday evening. When I got home my bil and a couple of grandsons were there working on my van; within an hour of my arrival, they had it up and running. What a surprise!

This past week we lost a dear family member...the last of the older generations on my dad's side. Charlene wasn't my aunt (she was, actually, my cousin's aunt), but she felt like an aunt and I was closer to her than most of my aunts on that side.

Orval and Charlene and the boys were at our house a lot when I was growing up. In fact, the boys were like little brothers to me. When Amber came along, Charlene was always making clothes and other things for her.

Charlene often referred to me as her daughter. She was a dear and precious friend for sure, and she will be greatly missed. I love you, Charlene! 💗

This afternoon...

I just got home from riding up to Nevada with Angie. She was babysitting Cooper (my great-grandson), so I got to spend some time with him today, too, which is always a treat!

Anyway...I better get on with today's post, but it's so pretty outside! I don't know if I can stand to sit still and stay in that long! 😆 Let's get started, shall we?

Master To-Do List and Menu Plan Monday - February 19, 2024

After a cold weekend, it's turning out to be a beautiful Monday here on the tallgrass prairie of southwest Missouri...sunny and in the mid-50's. The rest of the week promises to be even nicer...60's and 70's every day with most days being sunny. I'm so looking forward to spring and it cannot get here soon enough to suit me! 🌷

I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day! I did here, but only because I chose to. When I felt the depression of celebrating another anniversary without my husband come lurking around, I shook it off and purposefully decided to enjoy the day anyway.

I delivered Valentine goodies to the grands, bought myself flowers, was invited to supper at Patrick and Amber's (went, and enjoyed it!), and received sweet Valentines from some of the grands and one of the ladies in our Bible study group. It was a lovely day and I made it through without tears. Praise the Lord!

Master To Do List and Menu Plan Monday (The Tuesday Edition) -- February 13, 2024

It's late Tuesday evening and I'm just now getting around to posting this week's master to-do list and menu plan.

Photo Found on Facebook

Did you have a nice weekend? My week and weekend here were filled with work, play, fun, and celebration.

I presented a program at work on Friday where participants learned about the importance of snow to plants, animals, and people and the story of Snowflake Bently. They learned how to make ice cream in a bag and enjoyed eating it, too! Yum!

Three grandchildren celebrated birthdays over the weekend, and I got to spend some quality time with three of my grandsons.

Book Review and Giveaway: SERVING IN THE KITCHEN by Mrs. Sharon White

I have enjoyed many of Mrs. Sharon White's books over the years and have recently added 'Serving in the Kitchen' to my collection.

The 152-page book features recipes, advice, and encouragement for Christian homemakers based on Mrs. White's own experience and is divided into three parts.

'Part One' contains a selection of tips and ideas for help in the kitchen...stocking a pantry, setting a table, planning meals, managing portions, teaching children to help in the kitchen, packing lunches, preparing for picnics, setting a food budget, and more.

'Part Two' features information on serving meals and Mrs. White's own house specials...breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

In 'Part Three', Mrs. White shares several of her own, personal, family-favorite recipes. Black and white photos taken in Mrs. White's home are featured throughout the book.

To find out more, visit Mrs. White @ The Legacy of Home.

Now...for the giveaway!!!

If you would like an opportunity to win a copy of Serving in the Kitchen of your own, simply leave a comment below (or on my Hearth and Home Facebook page) telling one thing that you do to 'serve in the kitchen' at your home or an area that you feel you might need help in or would like to learn more about. That's it!

The giveaway starts today (Tuesday, February 6, 2024) and will run through Tuesday, February 27, 2024. A winner will be selected and announced on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The winner will have 48 hours to make contact. If they have not done so within 48 hours an alternate winner will be selected.

Until next time...

Hello, February!

It's an absolutely lovely day here on the tallgrass prairie of southwest Missouri today...65 degrees and sunny! No crocuses yet, but soon, I'm sure...especially if this nice weather continues as it's supposed to.

Amanda and Aaron weren't able to make it down this week, so, after Bible study last night, Amanda and I got together via Facebook Messenger and laid the initial plans for several upcoming events. We will get together soon to fine-tune and execute.

Well, I will go for now. I just wanted to stop in and wish you a beautiful First Day of February! Anything special going on your end today?

Until next time...
