Gray-Headed Coneflower Along Road's Edge
The wildflowers are lovely this morning! In the garden in front of the nature center, I see gray-headed coneflower, butterfly weed, wild parsley, wild lettuce, and a variety of other wildflowers blooming. The bee balm is just starting to bloom and gamagrass stands tall in big clumps.
Wildflower Garden in Front of the Nature Center
As the sun creeps higher, and the shadows retreat, this wildflower garden will become a veritable hub of activity as bees, butterflies, and a variety of other pollinators move in to share in the delights afforded to them here. It truly is a sight to behold!

How was your week and weekend? My week was good here. I got a new tire mounted and put on the car, and finally got it listed on the market place for sale. I've had a few inquiries, but nothing solid yet.
I worked quite a few days last week and am scheduled to work even more this week. I had two programs Saturday, have a program tomorrow evening, and am working on the Civil War Day Camp that is coming up in July. My part in the program will include discussing medicinal plants and herbs used during the Civil War, while focusing on ones that commonly grow on the prairie today. I just hope the weather is a bit cooler that day than it has been!
Granddaughter, Esther, had a birthday yesterday and granddaughter, Hannah, has one today. Happy Birthday, Esther and Hannah! Nana loves you both very much! 💗

Today is also my youngest daughter and her husband's anniversary. Happy Anniversary, Amanda and Aaron! 💕

Today, also, marks the 18th anniversary of my mother's death (it's hard to believe that it's been that long) and, what would have been, my dear friend, Dorothy's, 62nd birthday.

Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteI never watched Cagney and Lacey. What made them so beloved?
Thanks, Sandi! Oh, wow! It's been so long since I've seen an episode of Cagney and Lacey that I really couldn't tell you WHY Dorothy, nor I, either one was so enthralled with it, but, over the years Dorothy and I worked together to solve so many real-life mysteries that, somewhere along the line many years ago, we adopted Cagney and Lacey as our alter egos. She was always Christine and I was Mary Beth. We would automatically refer to ourselves by those names whenever we fall into mystery-solving mode. Thanks for asking, though! Gave me a giggle remembering our silly antics! Blessings! <3
DeleteI loved seeing all the wildflowers in this post! And of course, the people pictures as well. Sounds like this is going to be an emotional week for you. Prayers for peace for you today and the rest of the week. Hope the weather isn't too hot for you as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. You need to make another trip down sometime when I'm not working (fall would be nice and the flowers would be different than last time). We could explore the prairie a little further and have a meal together afterwards. Yes, from now through the end of July is going to be rough. Thanks for the prayers. It's a little cooler today, but I see that triple digits are on the way. YEAH! (Not!!!) Have a great week ahead and thanks for stopping in! Blessings!
DeleteHappy birthday to your granddaughters! 🎉 Happy anniversary to your daughter! 🥂 And biggest hugs over this anniversary and missing your Mom. I hope you find consolation in knowing you'll party with her (& Dorothy) again one day in heaven. 🙏 🤗
ReplyDeleteBlessings on the rest of your week. xoxo
Thanks, Carrie! I very much look forward the day that we are reunited with our loved ones that have gone on before us. Blessings to you, too, my dear friend! <3
