Master To-Do List and Menu Plan Monday - June 20, 2022

It's Monday morning. I've been awake since 5:00 a.m. and, that, after a short night's sleep. My mind is scattered and I'm tired of sad news, bad news, and loss. I'm tired of all the insanity going on in a world gone mad and I'm tired of not having my husband here to balance everything out, helping to make sense of it all. Some days are harder, for sure, than others but the days leading up to the one-year anniversary of his death are harder still. I'll be glad when it is behind me.

In and of itself the week and weekend weren't bad. I spent time working around the place. Tony got the yard mowed and I got the weed-eating done. I didn't make it to weeding the garden though and, to be honest, I'm about to give up on it. First it was too wet and everything about drowned out. Now we're in extreme heat and nothing is growing like it should. I did harvest the rest of the cherries and got another small batch of jelly put up and harvested a few onions. Other than that, I've got a couple of small zucchinis coming on and that's about it.

Onions Harvested, Braided, and Hanging

Throughout the week I visited with various friends and family members and put in quite a few extra hours at work. It's coming up on the end of the fiscal year and there is money to be used, so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to make a little extra. In this economy every dollar counts, doesn't it?

I didn't get everything on last week's 'to-do' list accomplished, but I did manage to do the majority of them. Now it's time to get started on a brand new list.

Let's do it...shall we?

  1. Thinking of you as I'm sure this is a tough time of year with lots of memories. I think we could all use a little more good news. Just hoping for a great late summer harvest around here (and looking into a 2nd attempt at a fall garden). Hope you have a great week! Happy Summer!

    1. It is a tough time, Jean, and all I can do is just keep putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward. I sure have lost my "I can do this" momentum though. The truth is, I really don't want to do this anymore. I'm hoping to get a second wind after we get past that one-year anniversary. As for the garden, I know it. After I posted all that this morning I went out and started working on deweeding. I might get 'er whipped into shape yet and great idea! I hadn't thought of a fall garden! I might have to look into that. Thanks for sparking the idea! Blessing for a great day, my friend, and have a wonderful summer!
