Instant Pot Cooking

I received an Instant Pot Duo for Christmas last year, but hadn't been brave enough (or desperate enough) to try it out until last night and ohmygoodness! What a neat piece of kitchen equipment!!! I cooked partially frozen chicken in no time and it was perfect!

My questions are these...

1) Who here has an Instant Pot?

2) If you have one, what is your favorite way to use it or favorite thing to cook in it?

3) What tips and tricks have you learned along the way in the time you've had it?

I can't wait to learn more. I have a feeling that I'm going to be experimenting with and using my Instant Pot Duo a lot!

Until next time...
~Rebecca

  1. I, too, had my (gifted) IP for a year before getting the nerve to use it! And now I echo your thoughts. I love the speed with which it will ‘hard boil’ eggs, cook whole potatoes, cook oatmeal, cook frozen meats but what I most like at present is making bone broths and cooking beans (pinto, kidney, etc.). A GREAT tool in my cooking belt!

    1. I'm hoping to get more comments on this on thread, but, thus far and for myself, I highly recommend getting one. Just don't wait a year before using it. It's an absolutely amazing piece of kitchen equipment!

    1. I will be trying baked potatoes soon. I've heard from several people that they are really good made that way. I hate making baked potatoes in the microwave (I hate making ANYTHING in the microwave!) and this would be a great alternative! Faster than the conventional oven, too. Thanks for sharing! <3

  4. Mine is not an Instantpot but it is a different brand pressure cooker. I need to get it out more and use it. You should check out all the nifty gadgets and accessories you can buy to go along with it. Youtube has alot of vidoes. Check out pot in pot cooking in the instantpot.
How do you make a button for your blog to give to others to put on theirs?

    1. Thanks for all the info, Tracy! Will check out those gadgets, accessories, and videos as I get time. As for making a button, I have no idea. A friend made mine. If you want to send me an email ( proverbs31heart@yahoo.com ) I can send you the html link that you can cut and put in a text box. I'm pretty sure that will work. Thank you for being willing to share it! It means a LOT...especially right now. Thank you!!!
