Embroidery, Summer Apples, and Apple Butter

The past couple of days have continued to be productive and they've been good days.

The embroidery supplies that I ordered earlier in the week arrived yesterday. Granddaughter Audrey offered to share some of her iron-on transfers with me so I could get started on a new craft project. I went over to Patrick and Amber's (son-in-law and daughter's) in the afternoon to choose transfers and iron them on my new, white tea towels. I selected transfers that feature cute camping scenes and sayings on them. I still have a ways to go, but this is the one that I'm working on right now...

Current Embroidery Project

Enjoyed having supper at Rudy and Angie's last night (oldest son and daughter-in-law). Then, went and picked apples at my friend, Carla's.

Summer Apples

I decided to turn them into apple butter and ended up with 18 half-pints. Some of them will be put away to give as gifts; the rest of them will be enjoyed over the course of the coming fall and winter on toast, pancakes, and biscuits.

Apple Butter

I finally finished the data entry job that I've been working on for work for months. My boss will be glad to hear it, I'm sure. He's been so patient and so kind through all of this. Both of my bosses have been great!

Well, I better be going. Dorothy's service is tomorrow. I'll be riding down with Amber and the children. Please remember Dorothy's family in your prayers. They've had a rough year.

Please keep my friend, Vickie's, family in your prayers, too. Her service is tomorrow, as well. Thanks so much!

Until next time...

  1. Glad you finished your work project. I love your embroidery. I used to embroidery. Perhaps I should take it up again. See you again soon.

    1. Me, too! I took it back to my boss and he sent me home with a whole new batch! And thanks! I'm enjoying the embroidery. It's been many years since I've done it. I encourage you to give it a go, too! Have a great day!

  2. My prayers are with you, and you can pick up a lot of very good embroider thread at second hand stores. That is where I get all of mine.

  3. Embroidery seems to be a lost art these days. I am happy to see you reviving it. I would love to learn to do it but just don't seem to have the patience for needle work. I'm a lefty, and everything just seems to be awkward and backwards for me. So I appreciate what others do. I LOVE apple butter! That looks so good! I know it will be enjoyed by anyone who receives such a gift from your hand! Praying for your friends' families now.

    1. Thanks, Pamela! I agree...needlework of any kind seems to be a lost art these days. Thanks for your prayers. I know Dorothy's children appreciate all they can get right now. Blessings, Sweet Lady!
