Home Management Monday - April 6, 2020

Greetings, Dear Ones! 💗

Happy first Monday of April and Happy Holy Week! 🕇 I pray that this post finds you and yours healthy, happy, and serving the Lord with gladness! ðŸ˜Š

Keep in mind that, no matter what is going on around us, if our hearts and minds are focused on God and obedience to His Word, the enemy does not have the power to steal our joy! Stay in the Word! Stand on it, walk in it, live it! God will never leave you, nor forsake you! His love never fails! 💓

How was your week and weekend?

Ours here was good here! I've pretty much shared daily throughout the week, so I won't go into great detail here, but, I do want to say that we sure enjoyed getting to attend the Virtual Victory Campaign (formerly the Branson Victory Campaign) online. I went ahead and took off work to attend, but we saved every bit of money that we normally would have spent on gas, food, lodging, and attractions. The conference itself is always free, but, in the past (before, in-between, or after sessions) we have visited attractions such as the Dixie Stampede, the Butterfly Palace, and the Titanic Museum, so we saved a good chunk of change by staying home, and I say that, literally.

For years now, John and I have saved our change, rolled it, and put it away. Right before our trip to Branson each year we cash it in for bills and that change has, literally, paid for our trip to Branson each year. Praise God for giving us His wisdom and showing us how to save and take a trip each year without straining us financially at all.

I have to admit, though, I do miss experiencing Branson in springtime! Dogwood trees in bloom, walks along the shoreline at Table Rock and Taneycomo, walking the trails at the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area (especially Dewey Bald), and the breathtaking beauty of the Ozark Mountains. I'm already looking forward to April 2021! 💗

Ohmygoodness! There I go! Getting carried away again!!! Enough reminiscing! Let's get on with this week's post...shall we? 😆

I awoke to...

... a lingering dream, gray skies, and an eager anticipation to start my day.

What I'm thinking...

... about Holy WeekI am trying to think of interesting ways to make it special and memorable in the midst of trial and social distancing.

What I'm thankful for...

... God's wisdom, direction, protection, and promises in every area.

On the breakfast plate...

... scrambled eggs, toast, and hot tea

The weather...

... right now it's 63 degrees and cloudy. The high today is supposed to reach 71 with only a slight (10%) chance of rain. After having such a cold weekend, today is going to be a great day!

This week's menu plan...

Monday - THM's Cabb and Saus Skillet (page 58 in the THM Cookbook) with oven-roasted carrots
Tuesday - Baked salmon, baked potatoes, cottage cheese, and coleslaw
Wednesday - Grilled turkey dogs and oven fries
Thursday - Chicken and Wild Rice Soup and homemade French bread
Friday - THM's hearty red soup (page 334 in the original THM) with light rye crackers and Laughing Cow cheese wedges
Saturday - Dh's night to cook
Sunday - Leftovers

On my 'to do' list...

... spend time in God's Word and prayer
... focus my heart and mind on Holy Week
... spend quality time with my husband
... come up with something special for the grands this week... check in on, and visit with, friends and family members via telephone and video chats
... work on my blog
... work around the house (clean, organize, do laundry)
... spend time outside
... watch 'Little House' reruns and sermons online
... watch some new videos that we got in the mail today ('A Thief in the Night' 4-part series)
... crochet
... read
... rest
... relax

On my reading pile...
