Happy Homemaking Monday - September 30, 2019

Greetings, Dear Readers! Happy Monday! ๐Ÿงก (The last Monday of September already! Can you believe that???) ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

What a long and crazy week this first week of autumn has been! Last week I shared a bit about the fire at the school. Arrests have been made and, hopefully, that ends the rash of arson fires that have plagued our community since June. The old high school and elementary gymnasium are gone. What didn't burn had to be torn down due to instability.

Tuesday I ran errands and took a friend to the eye doctor; the rest of the week I worked.

Saturday night we were under a tornado warning and things got pretty wild there for a bit.

Then, in the middle of the night Saturday night (early Sunday morning) our electricity went out for about an hour and half, which, in and of itself was no big deal, but when the fan and air-conditioner went off, that was it. I was up in the middle of the night for about four hours. ๐Ÿ˜’

Now, here we are...back around to Monday and I'm so hoping for a week that's a little bit calmer than the last.

Won't you join me as I link up with Sandra of Diary of a Stay At Home Mom and all the other lovely ladies that gather there on this week's Happy Homemaker Monday? ๐Ÿ’—

Right now I am...

... finishing up breakfast and enjoying a cup of hot tea while I work on this post.

On the breakfast plate...

... fat-free turkey slices, a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, and egg on toast with hot tea with a swirl of pumpkin spice creamer

The weather...

... Right now it is 72 degrees and sunny. It's supposed to be warm today through Wednesday, then...finally...autumn weather is scheduled to arrive! I can hardly wait

    1. Isn't that great (the Humpty Dumpty Had A Great Fall image)? And, yes, it's because of you all posting about it that made me start watching the seasons. I had seen a few episodes at my daughter's, but now I'm really enjoying the full seasons...so thanks, Ladies! ๐Ÿ’— As for Jodi Thomas...no, I'm sorry, but it wasn't me. Am glad you're enjoying her though! Blessings for a great week ahead and lovely October! ๐Ÿ’—

  3. That's dreadful about the arson. Your menu post with the oven roasted carrots and mashed (sweet but mine are regular) potatoes reminded me that I have both in the fridge. I think I'll add an egg and whip up some potato cakes.

    1. I love fall decor, too, Jodi! (Like you didn't know THAT!!!) ROTFL!!! I used to always have a fall display on my porch when we lived in Blue Springs...corn stalks, hay bales, pumpkins, and a life-sized scarecrow that we fashioned ourselves each year...but no more. I still decorate a bit, but not that elaborately anymore. Most of my decorating stays inside! LOL! Have a great week ahead and a glorious October! ๐Ÿ’—

  6. Glad you were safe during the storms on Saturday! Too bad about being up in the middle of the night though. You might keep an eye on the weather for up here on this coming Saturday, I noticed they're calling for MORE rain. UGH. Not sure how much or the timing, I think tomorrow is supposed to be the bigger storm. A preschool kid showed me a Yellow fuzzy caterpillar yesterday, unusual. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Jean! Nooooo! I haven't even thought of checking the weather up home for this weekend. I so hope we don't get rained out again!!! I'll have to check and see what they're saying. My aunt from Urich has already gone up to my aunt's at Lone Jack and all the cousins are planning on being there. Any chance of you making to MO TOWN on Saturday? I'd love to see you, even if only for a moment in passing. Have a great rest of the week and a glorious October! ๐Ÿ’—
