Happy Homemaker Monday - September 9, 2019

Greetings, Dear Readers! HAPPY MONDAY! ๐Ÿ’—

I hope you all had a lovely week and weekend. Ours ended up busier than we thought it was going to be here and there's a lot going on on all fronts. This week promises to be much the same.

Am experimenting with my new letter board. What do you think?
๐Ÿงก

We are finally getting some tomatoes out of our garden. I managed to put up a few quarts last week and there's probably more that need to be picked. Maybe I will find time to check on that before day's end.

Wednesday my husband and I ran errands (we had something like sixteen stops to make ๐Ÿ˜ฒ it was insane, BUT we got a lot done). While out we had lunch with our youngest son and his family. Our son made calzone and homemade pizza. The pizza was good, but the calzone was incredible! ๐Ÿ’—

Tuesday and Thursday were spent working on projects around the house (including bringing out all the fall stuff) ๐Ÿ˜Š; I had to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (in the afternoon).

Now, here are we back to Monday again! (I can't believe how fast these weeks fly by!) ๐Ÿ˜ณ Won't you join me as I link up with Sandra of Diary of a Stay At Home Mom and all the other lovely ladies that gather there on this week's Happy Homemaker Monday? ๐Ÿ’—

Right now I am...

... Finishing up breakfast and enjoying a cup of tea while I work on this post.

On the breakfast plate...

... cinnamon apple toast, Triple 0 vanilla yogurt, and hot tea

The weather...

... hot and humid. Right now it's 88 degrees with a heat index of 94. There is a slight breeze, which helps, but even the wind is hot. I'll be so glad when fall arrives! I am looking forward to warm days under brilliant blue skies and cool, crisp nights beside a bonfire! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

... On my reading pile...

In addition to daily scripture reading I finished Your Promise of Protection - The Power of the 91st Psalm by Gloria Copeland and have started her book And Jesus Healed Them All. I am still reading
On The Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

On the menu this week...

Monday - Tomato lentil soup with orange oatmeal muffins
Tuesday - Pasta, sauce, and meatballs with homemade French bread, olive oil bread dip, and green beans
Wednesday - Monterey jack and chicken quesadillas with black beans and fried apples
Thursday - Turkey dogs and oven fries
Friday - Broiled spoonbill, boiled buttered potatoes, peas, butternut squash and homemade bread
Saturday - Ham and beans with cornbread
Sunday - Leftovers

On my 'to do' list...

- Monday - HHM post, home blessing, laundry, plan the week ahead, bake bread and rolls for the week
- Tuesday - Cooking and baking (preparing and taking a meal to a friend who just lost a family member and am having company in for supper)
- Wednesday - Work
- Thursday - Work on projects around the house
- Friday - Work (Nature Weaving homeschool class)
- Saturday - Work (am working the Fall Rendezous at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site)
- Sunday - Church; work in the afternoon

In the craft basket...

... still just trying to keep up with the temperature afghan.

Temperature Afghan Through September 8th

I am sooooo glad I got that lot of six skeins of pumpkin orange!
Looks like I'm going to use every one of them before I'm done!

Looking forward to this week...

... Visiting with friends and working the rendezvous at Nathan Boone

Something I enjoyed this week...

... leading Saturday's bison hike at Prairie State Park.

From the camera...

Discovered this rare beauty along the trail...a WHITE field thistle!

    1. Thanks, Schotzy, and I hear you! The weather won't cooperate here, either! BUT...it is officially still summer, so I guess I can't complain too much, but I'll sure be glad when October gets here! We don't celebrate Halloween, either (haven't for close to thirty years now, I guess), but we do use it to pass out tracts and minister to others as we have opportunity. Thanks for stopping in and I'll get over to your site as soon as I get a chance! Blessings, Sweet Lady! <3

    1. Thanks, Pamela! I got that little pumpkin at one of the little shops up town last fall. She all sizes, colors, and shapes of them, but I liked that one. And, yes, you're right! The heat does make it hard to get in a fall mood, but I'm doing it anyway. LOL! I'm determined to have a nice, long fall season...with or without the cooperation of the weather. LOL! Have a great week ahead! <3
