Greetings, Dear Friends! HAPPY MONDAY! 💗 And HAPPY LABOR DAY! 🚒🚓🚑🚧🚜🚚🚕⛽
I hope you all are enjoying a long and restful holiday weekend! Can you believe that we're in to September already?
How was your week and weekend? For the most part, ours was good here...long, busy...with a lot going on, and bittersweet in so many ways.
My cousin and I went grocery shopping on Monday, Tuesday was spent cooking ahead for the week and weekend, and our youngest daughter arrived for an overnight stay on Wednesday.
Wednesday most of our children and their families were here, and we had a full day of family fun, visiting, and just being together. We shared supper and made banana splits using homemade ice cream. 🍌🍨🍒 We had a great day that was enjoyed by all! 💖
Thursday morning our daughter-in-law, Angie, came over to visit with Amanda, then, while Amanda was visiting a friend, my BFFF and I got together for a short a visit. Her dad had passed away a couple days previously and we hadn't had a chance to get together for so much as a hug, yet, so we took advantage of the few minutes that we both had in between everything and got together while we could.
Amanda headed home Thursday afternoon and I didn't do anything else the rest of the day except vegetate. 😴
I worked Friday and half a day Saturday. I was supposed to work all day, but ended leaving early so I could attend my friend's dad's memorial service.
After that, we visited with our youngest son and daughter-in-law in Lamar, briefly, then headed home to cook for the family reunion on Sunday.
My husband and I attended the Brown family reunion on Sunday and, I'm sorry to say, I didn't think to take a single photograph. 😲 On the way home, we decided to cut through the country and visit both of my aunts on my mom's side. 💗

Now, here we are, back to Monday! Won't you join me as I link up with Sandra of Diary of a Stay At Home Mom and all the other lovely ladies that gather there on this week's Happy Homemaker Monday? 💗
Right now I am...
...thinking about lunch and enjoying a cup a tea while I work on this post.
On the breakfast plate...
... this morning I had a chocolate chip oat-bran muffin and a Triple 0 vanilla yogurt

The weather...
... right now it's 83 degrees and sunny and the week ahead doesn't look too bad at all.

... On my reading pile...
I don't think I've read a single page this week. Am still right where I was...reading On The Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Your Promise of Protection - The Power of the 91st Psalm by Gloria Copeland
On the menu this week...
Our low-spend September is off to a great start, but there will definitely be tweaks made along the way. For example, last night we got home late and had supper on the road, so Sunday night's leftovers will be eaten for supper tonight. As long as the food on hand is eaten up and progress is made...that's all that really counts! Right? 😊

Wednesday - Chicken and mushroom sauce over mashed potatoes with oven-roasted carrots

Looking forward to this week...
... Every week in August was super busy, so I'm just looking forward to having a slower paced week and enjoying this first week of September.

Seems like you had a great family-week! Glad you got to enjoy yourself with your family. I think you look alot like your aunt.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Thanks, Lucie! And, yes, LOL! I think you're right! Aunt Geneva and I were discussing that very fact when I was there. I told her...I saw a picture of myself recently and, if I hadn't KNOWN that it was me, I would have thought it was her. Weird! :O LOL! Have a great rest of the week! <3
DeleteYou've been busy! I love your fall decor on your blog header and sidebars. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pamela! You have a great week, too! Blessings! <3
DeleteYou have been busy! I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend's dad, glad you were able to go to the service. I bet that meant a lot to your friend. No pictures at the reunion must mean you were busy having fun :) I love the picture of the spider! Hope you have a wonderful week (and get to relax a little in it).
ReplyDeleteYes, Jean, I have definitely been very busy. I think September promises to be a bit slower though and I am so looking forward to it. Thanks for the condolences on my friend's dad. I'm sure she appreciates them, too. As for the spider, don't tell Clementine, but garden spiders are my favorites! LOL! Hope you're having a wonderful time, too! Blessings, my dear friend! <3
DeleteMid-80s and sunshine sounds perfect to me. I love the bison pics and the spider. I'm visiting from #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty. Thanks for joining us. I've shared on social media.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christie! Glad you stopped in to visit and thank you for sharing on social media! I appreciate the boost! Mid-80's is okay...just a tad too warm for me, but, hey! It's better than triple digits any day! LOL! Blessings for a beautiful rest of the week! :)
DeleteFirst of all, I love the fall images and colors on the borders of your page. This is my first time visiting but I will be back. Such an enjoyable post with a little bit of everything. Envying your weather. We are still seeing triple digits! Used to call my youngest daughter 'Buffalo' and still call her Buffy. Your photos warmed my heart. Thanks for linking up with #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty
