ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby! I'm not sure why I'm a no-reply and aren't sure how to fix that. Any ideas? It's nice to meet you, too! Thanks for dropping in! <3

ReplyDeleteWhy sugar beet fields? Nice to meet you. I've been looking around your blog enjoying myself!
Ely is BEAUTIFUL, Ann, and it calls me "home" over and over again. To me, it truly is the loveliest spot on earth! The reason for sugar beet fields is, when we took a ten-day driving trip out west, for the whole first day of the trip, all we saw was mile after flat-mile of sugar beets and the first night we camped near a wet and soggy small town in the middle of what else? Sugar beet fields! At that point I declared that if this was all there was to see, I had no interest in continuing the trip and we may as well turn around and go home. I was promised that if I still felt that way by the next night that that is exactly what we would do! BUT...by the next night, though, I was totally in love with the American west and was quite anxious to continue our journey...which, by the way...turned out to be one of the best trips EVER! I survived the sugar beet fields and Chimney Rock (pictures above)? I tell everyone...that is MY rock! I LOVE Chimney Rock and all that it represents...a classic landmark and monument to the trails west and the folks that forged them! Thanks for stopping in! It was nice meeting you, too! Blessings! <3
