Happy Homemaker Monday - April 15, 2019

Good morning, Sweet Friends! Happy Monday! 💗

I trust that you and yours had a great week and weekend and I pray that your new week is off to a GREAT start! Our week and weekend here went well...busy with a lot going on behind the scenes...but, still, for the most part, good! 🌷

I got my new glasses on Monday and, sadly, I can't tell a bit of difference between them and the old pair. I'm kind of wishing now that I would have saved the $500.00 and waited another year or two before getting my eyes checked. 😞

Tuesday and Thursday were spent working at home and running errands and I worked Wednesday (school groups), Friday (homeschool program), Saturday (special event in Lamar), and Sunday (afternoon). Other than that, there's not been a lot going on on the home front.

So...why don't we get right on in to this week's post?

Won't you join me as, I link up with Sandra of Diary of a Stay At Home Mom and all the other lovely ladies that make up the Happy Homemaker Monday crew? You'll be glad you did! 💗

Today I am joining Sandra and the other ladies over at
Diary of a Stay At Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday.
Please be sure to go over and check it out! 💗
Right now I am...

... finishing up breakfast and enjoying a cup of hot tea while I work on this post and plan my day. As I type I'm watching the morning sun spill its rosy rays across the field and farm across the street. Beautiful! 💗

The View Beyond My Office Window
Am thinking...

... about and praying over friends and family members that are facing various trials this morning. It seems that practically every household we know has something going on...health issues, marriage and/or family troubles, finances...BUT, praise God! We know where the answers to all of life's troubles can be found and that is within the pages of God's Holy Word! It doesn't matter what it looks like in the natural...God's Word is Truth and it is upon that Truth we stand on behalf of our friends and family members and all that assails them. 🙏

On the breakfast plate...

...  peanut butter and jelly toast (Polaner All Fruit...grape!) and hot tea

The weather...

... Beautiful! At the moment it is a cool 49 degrees, but the sun is shining and we are expecting a high of 72. Most of the week promises highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's with a couple of chances for rain, but, overall, perfect weather for saving on the utility bill!!! 🌞

On my reading pile...

The Great Buffalo Hunt by Wayne Gard (I have a feeling that I'll be reading this one forever! I'm reading it for work AT work, which means only snippets of it here and there in my spare time...BUT...slowly, but surely, I am making progress. I just finished Chapter 7 and am on Page 132 of 308.) AND I just finished Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder by Caroline Fraser LAST NIGHT! I was asked to do a book review of it when I got done, so I am working on that and will present that soon. 😉

  1. How nice to be tilling for a garden. I can't wait until it's warm enough here to think about that, for now I'll settle for enough "dry" weather that hubby can keep working on the fence. With this odd pie shaped lot that backs up to the highway there's A LOT of fencing yet to go. I LOVE how your temperature afghan is looking! I hope you have a WONDERFUL week and a Blessed Easter with family.

  4. I wish we had an area big enough that the garden needed tilling. We have two tiny raised beds in the backyard that are just enough to tease us.

The temperature afghan looks so pretty, that pumpkin color is to die for. I've always wanted to try a temperature blanket but always forget about it until mid-March. I really need to plan better.

Have a wonderful week and great Easter

    1. Your raised beds might surprise you, Felicia! Check out some articles on postage stamp-sized gardens. Perhaps you can find some ideas on growing food in a small space that would be applicable to what you have. As for the temperature afghan, I got started very late and just got caught where I should be a few days ago. Here is a link where I get my local weather history...

Just put your zip code in up top and you can get your own weather history...which means...it's never too late to start a temperature afghan! :D

Thanks for dropping in and have a beautiful and blessed Easter! <3

  5. The view out your garden window is gorgeous! I heard them say on the news this morning to wait until Mother's Day for our gardens but I doubt we'll wait that long. Happy Easter to you! Hope you have a wonderful week and a great day on Sunday.

    1. Thanks, Jean! Yes, up home it was always suggested mid-May, but there were many times that we had stuff in the ground much earlier. Depended on the weather, of course. Here the last frost date is mid-April, so, technically, we're there and I'm glad! I'm so looking forward to this year's garden! Have a great week, my friend, and Happy Easter! Blessings! <3

    1. Thanks, Jodi! Believe it or not, right after I posted that, the eye doctor called and asked how I was getting along with my new glasses. I told her I wasn't and she wants me to come back in at my earliest convenience, which won't be until the 30th, and they're going to try to get the problem figured out at no additional charge. I'm so thankful! And, yes, I'm loving the afghan, too! Have a great rest of the week and a Happy Easter! Blessings! <3

Love how your afghan is turning out - the colors are just beautiful. ;)
And your granddaughter is so cute! And I"m dreaming on gardening in the near future. Still a bit of thawing needed here in the northwoods. But I love seeing that yours is getting tilled and ready. Yay Spring!!
