What A Busy Week, Month, and Holiday Season It Has Been!

Good THURSDAY morning, Dear Ones!

What a crazy (but enjoyable) week, month, and holiday season it has been here!

I thought I'd get a bit of a break around Christmas, but didn't and the first week of the New Year wasn't much better. There's been some down time, but not a lot compared to most years and, even when I've been home, it's been so busy that I've not had time to do many of the things I normally would be doing at this time of the year...so...here I've been...behind on every front, BUT...I think I'm finally getting a handle on it.

This week has been GREAT! On Monday a couple of friends that I met through work and I had a "history date"...which we've been trying to get to for weeks now and it finally worked out. We visited the Bates County Museum and Battle of Island Mound State Historic Site at Butler, Missouri, toured the town and ate at the historic Swope's Drive-In in Rich Hill, visited the Papinville Bridge at Papinsville, and walked the trail at the Osage Village State Historic site at Walker. It was great fun and we all enjoyed learning more about the history of our great state. We're planning to do another "history date" soon.

Tuesday and Wednesday were spent taking down all the Christmas stuff and deep-cleaning and reorganizing the Van Gogh room. This is the latest that the Christmas stuff has stayed EVER stayed up (normally, I take it down the day after Christmas) and the house feels empty without it...BUT...I did leave a few lights up in the Van Gogh room so I can keep a little Christmas sparkle going all year long. If it didn't take up so much room I'm pretty sure that I'd leave my big tree up year-round, too! 🎄 😆

When I cleaned and reorganized the Van Gogh room I threw out five of the big, white, kitchen-sized bags full of trash, plus smaller bags to be recycled. A lot of it was old program materials that I no longer needed and containers and things that I had saved "just in case" I might need them for something. I'm not going to need them, so out they went and it feels good! Between that and the five-plus Christmas totes out of here...everything feels rather bare...but I'll get used to it. There's still plenty more that could go, I'm sure!

Another thing I need to work on is this blog. I've got updates to do on my bucket lists (Eighteen in 2018, Fall 2018, and Christmas 2018) and new ones to write (Nineteen in 2019 and Winter 2019), but I will have to fit them in as I can.

Well, I better go. I have much to do. Had planned on going to Lamar today, but it's been a crazy morning and it's really getting too late to head out. I will have to save it for Sunday and do what I need to do here this afternoon. You all have a great Thursday and a wonderful weekend! We're suppose to get snow here over the weekend, so I'm looking forward to that! ⛄

Until next time...
