Happy Homemaker Monday - June 4, 2018

Purple-headed Coneflower Blooming
in Our Front Yard This Morning
Good morning, Dear Ladies!

I trust that you and your family had a nice weekend and that your week this week is off to a great start! Happy First Monday in June! 💗

Our weekend was full to the brim and running over, but good here. I worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and went on a 'fox hunt' with the grands, and was even "given" a star as a gift. (Now...who can beat that???) It was a great weekend! 😇

Now, this morning, I'm up and at 'em and looking forward to another full week ahead! Let's get started as we join Sandra over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom...shall we?

Today I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom and
all of the wonderful ladies of
Happy Homemaker Monday!

Right now I am...

Doing laundry, eating breakfast, and working on this post.

Thinking...

About my girlhood friend, Trinda. Today is her birthday. Trinda was born with a hole in her heart and lived to be 18-years-old. She had a beautiful, kind, and loving spirit and will always be remembered by those of us who were fortunate enough to call her our friend. Happy Birthday in heaven, Trinda! You are much loved and not forgotten. 💗

I am also remembering my mother-in-law, Mary Knox. She passed away five years ago today. I was fortunate enough to know her from the age of 5 on up and she is another one who was much loved, is thought of often, and is missed by those her knew and loved her (her and my father-in-law both!!!)

Rudy and Mary, I love you both and am thankful for the influence you had in my life! 💗💗

On the breakfast plate...

This morning I've having one of my favorites...Trim Healthy Mama's 'Sweatpants Oatmeal' with blueberries, a Cutie, and a steaming hot cup of Twining's Irish Breakfast tea.

The weather...

Most of last week was super hot, but Saturday and Sunday were both much more comfortable with highs in the mid-80's and nights in the low- to mid-60's with low humidity. Right now it's 73 degrees and, thankfully, it looks like the nicer weather is going to prevail for a few more days...which makes me super happy! 😄

On my reading pile...

Life in the Spirit Study BIble, Along the Way: Building a Legacy That Changes Lives by Lynette Hagin, The Busy Woman's
Guide to Healthy Eating
by Emily Barnes and Sue Gregg and Ella Mayfield's Paw paw Militia by Fay Risner.

Am still, pretty much, right where I was last week. In addition to daily scripture I am still reading Along the Way: Building a Legacy That Changes Lives by Lynette Hagin. I am also reading The Busy Woman's Guide to Healthy Eating by Emily Barnes and Sue Gregg and Ella Mayfield's Paw paw Militia by Fay Risner..

On the menu this week...

Monday - homemade pizza (turkey pepperoni and mushroom)
Tuesday - ham and beans (freezer) with cornbread
Wednesday - turkey meatballs, troodles (zucchini noodles), sauce, and peas
Thursday - taco-seasoned chicken with black beans, rice, and homemade tortillas
Friday - broiled salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and green beans
Saturday - spinach and feta turkey burgers with sweet potato fries
Sunday - leftovers

On my 'to do' list...

- Monday - Plan the week ahead, do my weekly "home blessing", do laundry, wash bedding, help dh plant the rest of our garden crops
- Tuesday - Pick the last of the cherries and get them made into juice for jelly, get the cherry tree cut up and stacked for late summer and autumn bonfire wood
- Wednesday - Go on a "herceptin date" with my friend, Laura, pick up a frog trunk from the Missouri Department of Conservation for an upcoming program
- Thursday - Lead a wildflower hike following the public meeting at the Battle of Island Mound site @ Butler, Missouri
- Friday - Work
- Saturday - Host a diaper shower for our daughter-in-law (new grandbaby due this month!) 💗
- Sunday - Church, work

In the craft basket...

A lot of things on hold, but not working on anything at the moment.

Looking forward to this week...

Getting the cherry tree cut up and out of the yard, catching up with my friend, Laura, and spending time with family and friends over the weekend.

Something interesting I watched...

Two baby red foxes playing under a street lamp. They would stand up, rumble, then tumble, and roll. They were so cute!

What I found while surfing the net...

No time for surfing this week.

From the camera...

My Bison "Pieces and Parts" Table at Fort
Scott's "Grand Ol' Days" Event on Saturday.
Scripture passage...

Well, Ladies, that's it for this week! I pray that each and every one of you have a blessed and beautiful week ahead! And I'll see you next week! 💗

Until Next Time...
~Rebecca

    1. Coneflowers are one of my favorites and mine are just now really getting fired up. I regular purple coneflowers growing in the front yard and we've got pale purple and gray-headed growing at the park. They're all beautiful! Hope you're having a nice weekend and are recovering from your vacation. Talk with you soon! :)
