Another week has flown by and here we are! It's Monday again already! I hope that each and every one of you had a great week last week and I pray that this post finds you refreshed after the weekend and ready to face a brand new week with all the joys and challenges that await you!
Let's get started on this week's post...shall we?

Finishing up this post and getting ready to head for Lamar. I need to be out of here by 10:00.

Chilly at the moment...36 degrees. We're supposed to have sunshine and a high of 50 today, but the rest of the 10-day forecast looks more promising with highs in the upper 50's, 60's, and 70's.

Monday - turkey Italian sausage, fried cabbage, and baked sweet potato
Tuesday - turkey meatballs and sauce over spaghetti squash with homemade bread
Wednesday - corned beef, cabbage, and baked potatoes with Emerald Isle Cake for dessert
Thursday - baked and seasoned chicken tenders with oven-baked sweet potato fries
Friday - grilled salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and brussel sprouts
Saturday - leftovers
Sunday - leftovers
On my 'to do' list...
- Monday - Take a friend grocery shopping, drop clothes and egg cartons off at the second-hand shop, pick up the rest of what we need for our annual St. Patrick's Day get-together, plan the week ahead, do my "weekly "home blessing", laundry
- Tuesday - Cook four corned beefs (in the crockpot), bake four Emerald Isle Cakes (or make two double ones), get bedding ready for daughter and son-in-law who will be arriving this evening; take grands to choir practice
- Wednesday - Cook cabbage and baked potatoes; host the annual St. Patrick's Day gathering of the clan, and enjoy the day with family and friends
- Thursday - Spend as much time with daughter and son-in-law as possible before they head home, figure mid-month budget, go to the bank
- Friday - Work
- Saturday - Work
- Sunday - Church
In the craft basket...
Nothing at this point, but my boss has given me several big, empty, fifty-pound, sunflower seed bags to do something with.

Sounds like a busy and fun week on the horizon for you. That sunflower bag just looks so cheerful, it makes me smile. At first, I thought you had a bag full of sunflower seeds to plant. Have you ever been to one of those local sunflower fields (not sure if there are any down that way?)? On my bucket list to get out to one some day. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jean! I'm really looking forward to it! I've not been to a sunflower field here, but I have seen them in southern Minnesota...mile after mile of them! So beautiful! I think my boss buys the 50 pound bags of black oil seed for his bird-feeders. If you locate a sunflower field in the area let me know and I'll do the same. I'd like to visit one locally and I do think they may have them here. Pennington Seed, which is a big bird-feed producer is in Greenfield, which isn't too far away from us. Have a great week ahead! <3

DeleteOoooh lilacs!!! won't be seeing ours for a few months yet. Love the bags you make! I also thought they were seeds to plant at first :) I'm thinking I need to plant sunflower seeds this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Luludou! I think my boss buys the 50-pound bags of black oil seed to fill his bird-feeders, but, yes, by all means! Plant sunflower seeds! I love planting everything from the black oil in the garden to the giants as a border! So beautiful! Have a blessed week ahead! <3

DeleteI am trying not to be green eyed over your beautiful lilac bush... for the life of me we've lived here for 30 years and my lilac just doesnt produce... Lilacs are one of my favorites!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had that bush for years, Schotzy, and that was the most the blooms that we had ever gotten, but the bush hardly grew at all. It was like it was really struggling where it was. Since moving it last September it has grown by leaps and bounds. Am hoping for some really nice blooms this year. Maybe you could get some new lilac bushes and plant them in different areas. It might be that the soil just isn't right for the one that you've got. Have a great week ahead! And blessings! <3
