Good Afternoon, Sweet Ladies! HAPPY MONDAY! 😊
It's the Monday after Thanksgiving and, as you can see, I'm running a bit behind on getting this post out.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at our youngest daughter, Amanda, and son-in-law, Phillip's in KC. Our oldest daughter, Amber, and her husband, Patrick, and their children joined us there, as did Patrick's parents (who happen to be long-time friends of ours), and a few of Amanda and Phillip's friends, as well. We had a great time cooking and visiting and eating together.

I worked Saturday and didn't think I was going to make it home. By the time I got there it was everything I could do to make it in the house. I was back in bed...sick again...this time with chills, a sore throat, and headache. That's where I was all day yesterday and only just this late morning felt like getting up and doing something different. I'm feeling quite a bit better at this point, but I'm certainly not up to running a marathon. I have no idea what's up with this. I'm usually not one to get down with stuff and this makes the third illness in a little over a month.
Oh, well...on with today's post...
The weather...
Right now it's 71 degrees and sunny. The 10-day forecast shows highs in the 50's and 60's most days with lows in the 30's and 40's. For now I'll take it as it keeps that utility bill down! 💵
Having a cup of tea as I work on this post and thinking about all the things that I need to be doing, but can't just yet. Hopefully, I will feel good enough later on this afternoon or evening to get some stuff done. All I've managed to do, so far, is read a little.
On my reading pile...
I finally finished reading How You Can Be Led by the Spirit of God by Kenneth E. Hagin (review done and test taken...yeah!) and the updated and expanded edition of A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George arrived in the mail and was waiting in the mailbox for me when I arrived home Friday afternoon. I've already read in the new edition beyond where I was in the old. I like the changes that have been made.
I am moving into my next book through Rhema, Tongues: Beyond The Upper Room by Kenneth E. Hagin and have decided to revisit Greater Health God's Way by Stormie Omartian. It was the first book that really set me on a scriptural path to better health and, with all the ups and downs that I've had over the past several years, I thought it might be wise to back up and reevaluate where I'm at and what I'm doing.

On the menu this week...
I'm not really in the mood for food right now, so I think that I'm going to leave this section blank for now. I'll come back later and fill it in. I don't even know what's in the house at this point.

In the craft basket...
Nothing at the moment, but still need to be getting some things figured out. Family Christmas for us is the 9th of December. That's in less than two weeks! 😨
From the camera...
Well, Ladies, that's it for this week. I pray that each and every one of you and yours have a wonderful week ahead and that the Lord's blessings are many.
Until next time...

Hi Rebecca... Im like you.. I needed a slow kind of day today and just took it...so glad to see the last of the leftovers!!! Oh, how I owuld love to shop at a Hobby Lobby.. not one in a 3 hour radius from us... oh, well,, just take my Michael's and make the most of it!!!BTW, I must not have been clear.. I had my gradt surgery 2 weeks ago and am now starting phase 2 of caring for it... thankfully not such intense care but will last for 3 months... so I am contenting myself for being where I am in the process and that hopefully now I am cancer free!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Schotzy. I'm sure that it's me that misunderstood. I'm not too with it today. Yes, Hobby Lobby is really a nice place. I don't get to shop one often and like to go with dd when I'm in KC. It's always a nice way to kick off the Christmas season...especially when you can find such great deals! Blessings! <3
DeleteGet well soon my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! Love you! <3

ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving here in KC. Christmas in the park is always a lot of fun. Seems like there are a lot more events to pick from this year, even Worlds of Fun is getting in on the action! Of course, that one won't be free. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well again, I think this weather with the warmer days (even though I love it) adds to the illnesses a bit. Hope you start to feel better and have a fantastic week!
Thanks, Jean! Yes, Amanda lives just north of Worlds of Fun and the lights there were BEAUTIFUL!!! And, you're right! Definitely not free! LOL! I am feeling considerably better tonight and hope to be back on track by tomorrow. I have too much going on to stay down too long. Have a great week ahead and, if you're up to, come out to Watkins Woolen Mill Saturday afternoon or evening for Christmas on the Farm! I will, most likely, be stationed in the dining room. <3
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, on the 9th? I love it when our family gets together in January. I feel like we have a longer Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYes, we always have our family Christmas on the second Saturday of December. Because of her job, it's the only time that our youngest daughter and her husband can make it down during the holidays. We (John and I, our six children, their spouses, and grandchildren) do family Christmas then, but then that leaves the rest of the season open for the kids and grands to spend family time with the other side of their families and enjoy events throughout the season. I do like the idea of January though. With her job situation I wonder if that would be an option for our youngest daughter? I never thought of it before, but think I'll ask. Not for this year, of course, but maybe next. Thanks, Kristina! <3
DeleteI'm running so late this week. LOVE your reading pile and I'm so in love with your lighthouse picture!!! I really miss snow A LOT! I sure hope you feel better soon. Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never, Tamy! LOL! I'm kidding! I am glad you're here though! And thanks! Yes, that lighthouse is part of my "second home" in northern Minnesota. Have visited it many times and it is one of my favorite places on earth. I never get tired of it. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm feeling much better at this point. You have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! (((HUG))) <3
