It's FRIDAY! That means it's time for another Five Minute Friday where, we, as our hostess and inspiration, Lisa-Jo Baker, puts it, write "For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not."
Once again, it's been several weeks since I've had five spare minutes to sit down and write at all on Fridays...or any other day. Life has been full and crazy lately and it seems that I've not had near enough to time to do the things that I'd like to be doing. But...I've got a few free minutes now, so here goes...
Sometimes, we (especially women) have hard time connecting. We want to connect, but we've been hurt in the past and we're fearful...fearful of getting hurt again...fearful of being rejected...but, you know, sometimes, you've just got to take a leap of faith, reach out, and take a chance. Relationships don't just happen. They take commitment and they take work. I'd like to encourage you today to reach to someone that the Lord has laid on your heart today. Invite a friend over for a cup of tea and some simple treat and connect or reconnect!

Yes, those fears often hold me back. I am almost always pleasantly surprised when I take the risk of connecting with someone.
ReplyDeleteConnecting is a theme today on many blogs I have read. I love connecting and look forward to all of my visitors tht drop by and keep me encouraged as I go through my recovery. I look forward to stopping in and connectig with others when Im up and about once again.

Hello, my friend! I wish I was a better writer. Sometimes I connect better with friends through social media than I do in person. I think it goes back to being hurt. my friendships online are so very important to me too but those friends won't see my cry when I'm hurt, they don't see me sad when my feelings are hurt. -- in person my feelings are right there to all to see.
ReplyDeleteI understand, Martha. I am the same way. God bless you, Sweet Friend! I love you! (((HUG))) <3
