Nesting Box Curtains

Nesting Box Curtains
After reading an article about nesting box curtains on Fresh Eggs Daily, I decided to give it a try for myself. My nesting box curtains aren't as pretty as the ones on Fresh Eggs Daily's site, but I figure they're good enough for a trial run. I didn't even sew mine. I just cut, folded, fastened, and tied. We'll see how it goes. If the girls seem to like them, I'll find a little heavier fabric and make them some nicer ones. (~smile~)

  2. I wondered that myself, RJ. Most of what I've seen online is drapery type fabrics, which would be great in the winter, but, as you can see, I started off with something light and airy. Actually those were old curtains that I just cut down to size. Try an internet search for 'nesting box curtains' and see what all you come up with. Amazing!

  3. Wow, you are so blessed to have 10 grand children and you're fortunate enough to spend so much time with them homeschooling.
I've never seen nest curtains before, they are so cute.
I love to recycle old clothes, and my latest project was taking my old jeans & my hubbies torn red winter check shirt and cutting granny squares out of them. I then made big square panels out of them mixed together. I then covered some old dining room chair's cushions with them. The look is cheeky and charming.
I took some old beige corduroy trousers of my husbands and cut a pouch out of them for my Tracfone LG500G smart phone so that the touch screen stays protected. I then took an old green t-shirt and cut a yawning hippo silhouette out of it to sew on the pouch.
It's a satisfying experience to get something beautiful out of discarded junk.
I think it's wonderful that your hens are going to have snug little cubicles, they are going to love it too.
