Now...for today's assignment....

Identity - "The collective aspect of the set of characteristics by which a thing is definitively recognizable or known."

Identity...

You know her! The woman that always has it together! She knows who she is and where she's going! Everything in her life just falls into place and everything goes her way...always! At least it appears that way...to everyone but her and those closest to her. And that's why she keeps most people at bay.

What most people don't know...and what she herself and those closest to her (even when she thinks they don't) knows all too well...is that she is suffering an identity crisis...

"A psychosocial state or condition of disorientation and role confusion occurring as a result of conflicting internal and external experiences, pressures, and expectations."

Over a lifetime she has had too many expectations put on her from too many people from too many different directions...some real and some imagined...and, over time, it has eroded her identity...the real her...the her that God created her to be...and it hurts!

The problem is...there's only One Way to get past the crisis and that is to, willingly and purposefully, lay aside the hurt...the anger...the pride...the deceit...the willingness to hang onto all of those past injustices and wrongs that have been launched against her by the enemy (obviously through the use of those closest to her heart)...and truly forgive them...at first by faith if not by feeling...but forgiveness is the only way. By forgiving them...she becomes whole...complete...real...full of love...and ready to come to terms with her own identity...finally becoming all that she was intended to be by the Lover Of Her Soul!

"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a
quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
~ Colossians 3:13 ~
