Saturday evening my husband and son and I, as well as a couple of our
children and their families, were blessed enough to spend an evening
with the
Duggar family. The event (A Celebration of Hope) was held at
Calvary Baptist Church in
Joplin, Missouri.

Our Table |
Daughter,
Amber, granddaughter, Audrey, and I attended a special dinner that was
held before the family event in the evening and everything was so
special! So beautiful!
|
Audrey and Her Dinner |
Dinner was catered in from
The Red Onion and
there were special cupcakes from
Smallcakes Cupcakery. We (and a roomful of other
lovely ladies) had dinner with Jim Bob and Michelle and seventeen of
their nineteen children.
Afterwards there was a question and answer
session with Michelle. After that, we went to the sanctuary where we
joined up with our menfolk and the rest of the family that had come. We
were blessed with music by the children before Jim Bob and Michelle
shared their testimony. Afterwards there were pictures and book
signings.

ReplyDeleteIt really was, Tesha. The Duggars are some of the sweetest, kindest, most down-to-earth people that I've ever met.
Deleteaww how special! I love the Duggars :) Such a sweet family. I don't know if you heard they lost their daughter, Jubilee Shalom in late 2011. I am actually about to watch the show with my mom. You can purchase the episode, that shows how they dealt with the loss and the service, etc. on amazon:

The Duggars daughter, Josie, was due within days of when my Lily Katherine was due. So, Josie has a sweet spot in my heart. And now with the loss of Jubilee, we have something else in common. They play a song that is very special to my heart on the episode. I don't know if you've heard it. It's called "I Will Carry You" by Selah.
Blessings! :)
Dear Hannah Rose,
ReplyDeleteThanks, again, for stopping by to visit and comment. It is appreciated more than you know!
Yes, after dinner, during the question and answer session, Michelle spoke about Jubilee's loss and brought up the fact that she noticed the butterflies that graced each table and commented on how special they were as the butterfly is the symbol that they picked as a symbol for Jubilee. The pastor's wife had also lost a little girl, Isabella, and they, too, had chosen a butterfly as her symbol, so it was very special for both of them. Thanks for sharing the link to the DVD. I will check that out. Josie was at the dinner and is just as cute as a button! I haven't heard the song by Selah, but I will look it up on YouTube and listen to it. Thanks for sharing! Take care and God bless!
All My Love,
~Rebecca
