Today, as we prepare for a city-wide tract pass, I find myself very thankful that we live in a country where we are free to worship God, read His Word, meet with other believers, and openly serve Him. I fear, however, that those days are numbered. There have been many reports lately of people in America being in trouble with the law, fined, and even jailed for passing out tracts, holding Bible study meetings in their homes, and openly talking about and sharing Jesus in the workplace and/or the school setting. Let's not take our freedoms for granted, and let's make full use of them while we have them.
I fear our freedoms are going to be short-lived. Here, in the UK, we've had instances too of people taken to court, or threatened with prosecution simply for preaching or for handing out tracts.
ReplyDeletePray God we will be faithful when worse persecution comes, if that is God's will for us.
Sobering thoughts...
Sobering thoughts indeed! My only prayer is that, when the time comes, that God grant His remnant church the faith, grace, grit, and fortitude of the Scottish Covenanters, because, there is little doubt that we will need it.
