Photos Around The Yard - Violets, Hosta, Lily-of-the-Valley, and Wandering Jew Bed
My mom gave me a start of her house plant that is purple...she called it a wandering jew. I wonder if they are the same and if I could plant my start outside? Do your plants survive the winter?
I know what you're talking about, and I do think that it is some sort of wandering jew, but I have no idea if they are the same or not. The ones that grow in our yard are wild and they're everywhere. You can't kill the things out! In fact, I found this little tidbit on-line...
"If its the same purple wandering jew I had it loved being outside but be careful it will take over your whole yard and its very hard to get rid of I tried to kill mine and the only way I could get rid of it was by putting my pet pig in that area and letting her dig all the roots up and eat them. Oh and it did have pretty little purple flowers on it."
